Chi ha scattato questa foto? Potrebbe sembrare strano che due fotografi che hanno realizzato insieme un reportage non riescano, alcune volte, ad individuare a prima vista una loro immagine. È comprensibile, invece, se si tratta di due fotografi che condividono una straordinaria amicizia. La storia inizia all’asilo, dove avviene il loro prima incontro. I due bimbi diventano amici inseparabili. Un giorno le loro mamme acquistano per loro su una bancherella del mercato due cappellini identici di colore bianco con una scritta rossa che diventano il simbolo della loro amicizia per tanto tempo. Dopo l’asilo, ancora insieme a scuola nello stesso banco, poi per un periodo nella stessa azienda ed infine condividono una grandissima passione per la fotografia, nata verso la fine degli anni settanta. Una passione coltivata piano piano maturando poi l’idea di raccontare il proprio territorio attraverso le immagini, attività che li caratterizza. Una frequentazione assidua quasi quotidiana, quella dei due fotografi, fatta di scambi di opinioni, confronti e nuove idee da trasformare in progetti. Insieme hanno pubblicato libri fotografici, realizzato mostre e video proiezioni.

After completing yet another reportage together, it might sound strange that two photographers can’t tell whether a picture/photograph is one of their own or not. It’s actually understandable, though, if we’re talking about two professionals who share a lifelong friendship.
Their story begins when they are both in kindergarten. That’s where they first meet and soon become inseparable. One day their mothers buy them two identical white caps with red writings, which become the everlasting symbol of their bond. Classmates, work colleagues for the same company, in the late 70s the two friends develop and share a tremendous passion for photography. A passion nurtured day by day, shot by shot, which leads them to the goal of telling stories from their own territory through pictures. Exchanges of ideas, accurate planning, exciting propositions to turn into brand new projects: this is the two photographers’ daily routine. Together, they published many photobooks and set up several exhibitions and video projections.
